Great Car Features to Look For in Your Next Vehicle

Modern cars come with so many optional features it can be hard to determine which ones are worth it. These six car features are great options for any vehicle.

Back-Up Camera

No matter how cautious you are, you’ll always have space directly behind your car you won’t be able to monitor alone while backing up your vehicle. Backup cameras allow drivers to get a much clearer view of what’s going on behind their car when they’re pulling out of a parking stall or driveway.

Blind-Spot Monitoring

Take the stress out of switching lanes with blind-spot monitoring. This helpful feature uses small lights on your side mirrors to let you know when a car is in your blind spot. If you don’t notice and start to move toward the hidden car, your vehicle will alert you with a chime.

Forward-Collision Warning (FCW)

With lasers, cameras, or radar, Forward Collision Warning monitors surrounding road conditions and the speed of your vehicle to predict potentially dangerous situations. The FCW system will provide you with alerts when it senses a potential collision.

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)

Automatic emergency braking is a great companion to an FCW system. When the AEB senses a potential collision, your vehicle will automatically start braking for you if you don’t react in time. This can be a literal lifesaver on the road.

Keyless Entry

The days of fumbling to find your keys while your hands are full of groceries are over. Keyless entry allows you to simply walk up to the car and open the door. You may have to touch a sensor, or you might just need to get within range of the car. Either way, it’s a simple way to make your life easier.

Bluetooth Connectivity

Hands-free phone use isn’t just about safety, in many states, it’s the law. Bluetooth connectivity capabilities allow you to make calls, play music, and more all while staying safe and well within the limits of the law.
